I am pleased to announce that I will shortly be embarking on mediation training with The Family Mediators Association to support the work I am currently doing with my clients and solicitor contacts.
The FMA, established in 1988, is a membership organisation for family mediators. They are a lead body and member organisation of the Family Mediation Council (FMC), the umbrella for professional family mediators. (see www.familymediationcouncil.org.uk)
The training begins in May and with further sessions in June and July I will then start tentative steps towards becoming proficient as a mediator (and particularly I hope a co-mediator).
I have taken this step due to the increased number of enquiries I have received in recent months from clients looking for help with the financial aspects of their divorce and specifically wanting a financial adviser involved. Having being comfortable dealing with the financial aspects for some time I am less content with dealing with the wider issues related to a divorce situation (without further training).
I am excited and looking forward to the challenge.
