It’s easy for clients to feel confused and put off by the complexities of divorce settlements.
My role is to help you to guide your client through the jargon, the complexities and the options until they are confident enough to make an informed choice. Remember, they get one chance at making this settlement work best for them.
I will firstly look at where they are in the divorce process and ascertain what their goals and objectives are. I will support you with advice and guidance on their options.
Typically clients instruct me on a specific aspect or to complete a court report or to implement a pension sharing order. However, it is possible to instruct me to help them through the whole process.

Pre Divorce
Prior to the financial negotiations it is imperative that you and your client has the right information. I can assist you with the gathering of financial information and provide analysis of what has been put on Form E so that your client has a thorough understanding of their financial situation.
If an inquiry is needed into a specific asset such as a pension or there is a lack of information I will guide you on how to rectify this and request the necessary further information you need. I will assist you to understand what the responses are and mean so you can provide the best service to your client.
I will also provide your client with advice and guidance on what their options are so that they can enter the negotiations with confidence.
Negotiations
During the negotiations I can provide your client with advice, reassurance and guidance on the settlement terms on offer. I can also assist with brainstorming ideas on the options and how best to settle.
I will ensure that your client understands their financial settlement and feels confident enough to make informed decisions.
Post Divorce Planning
Once the settlement is concluded I will guide your client on the implementation of any financial orders, particularly, a pension sharing order.
My financial planning service will help them to understand the numbers better and ensure their future plans are secure.
